Interserve and Procure 22 – Taking construction collaboration further
Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has been working with the Department of Health on ProCure frameworks since their inception. Fifteen years later we have delivered 252 healthcare projects for our NHS clients, totalling over £1.6billion, covering the spectrum of health services from national tertiary acute, to mental Health and local community provision.
Our approach comprises partnering with NHS healthcare clients to use existing assets effectively and provide new facilities which are efficient, deliver improved clinical outcomes and a better staff, patient and visitor experience.
Our solutions draw on the broad expertise of our team and supply chain. The work done at Framework level supports national health standards to drive down construction costs and improve capital programme efficiency making every pound of scarce resource count.
Our work includes the UK’s first high energy Proton Beam Therapy unit, designed for The Christie in Manchester, to deliver the very best in global healthcare technology for cancer patients. This scheme, in the heart of the existing hospital, opens in 20I8 and has already received multiple awards including Gold award from Considerate Contractor and BIM project of the year.
Other award-winning schemes include The Sid Watkins Building for the UK’s only specialist neurosciences NHS Trust, winning 2015 IHEEM Project of the Year and The Research Innovation Learning & Development Centre, developed jointly with the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Exeter University, named South West Building of the Year in 2014.
We don’t just deliver large projects. Our dedicated regional teams have undertaken hundreds of small projects totalling some £70 million during the six-year P21+ Framework, all delivered with the same focus on high quality, efficient patient and staff environments.
